3M™ Engineer Grade Reflective Sheeting
Type: enclosed lens reflective sheeting.
Best for: This material is typically used for signs in areas with low volume, lower speed traffic and little competing surrounding light.
Reflectivity: exceeds specification ASTM D 4956-04 Type I.
3M™ Engineer Grade Reflective Sheeting Series 3270 with pressure sensitive adhesive backing is a durable material with enclosed lens glass beads, designed to be used where maximum brightness at night is not required and in areas of light traffic with little ambient lighting. Application to standard traffic sign substrates with a hand or pneumatic squeeze roller applicator.
3M™ High Intensity Reflective Sheeting
Type: encapsulated lens reflective sheeting.
Best for: all traffic situations. High Intensity is highly reflective at wide angles to approaching traffic and continues to be a proven performer.
Reflectivity: exceeds specification ASTM D 4956-04, Type III.
3M™ High Intensity Grade Reflective Sheeting Series 3870 is highly reflective, encapsulated lens sheeting with pressure sensitive adhesive backing for application to standard traffic sign substrates using a hand or pneumatic squeeze roller applicator. Extremely cost-effective signing material, at least three (3) times brighter than conventional enclosed lens reflective sheeting, effective in lighted areas with moderately high speed limits and levels of surround light. Clearly visible at viewing angles of 30 degrees or more and effective on signs positioned at wide angles to approaching traffic or misaligned due to impact or age.
3M™ High Intensity Grade Prismatic Reflective Sheeting
Type: unique prismatic construction sheeting. Backed by 3M™ reliability.
Best for: all traffic situations. High Intensity Prismatic is highly reflective at wide angles to approaching traffic.
Reflectivity: exceeds specification ASTM D 4956-04, Type III and Type IV.
3M™ High Intensity Prismatic Reflective Sheeting Series 3930 with pressure sensitive adhesive is nonmetalized microprismatic lens reflective sheeting designed for production of reflective durable traffic control signs, work zone devices and delineators that are exposed vertically in service. Applied to properly prepared sign substrates, it provides longterm reflectivity and durability with an improved optical package to increase nighttime safety. Its unique prismatic construction provides a high level of retroreflectivity for multiple traffic control situations.
3M™ Diamond Grade™ VIP Reflective Sheeting
Type: state-of-the-art Microprismatic sheeting.
Best for: signs that need to be visible in all light and weather conditions. Diamond Grade VIP performs well at short sight distances.
Reflectivity: meets specification ASTM D 4956-04, Type IX.
3M™ Diamond Grade™ VIP Reflective Sheeting Series 3990 is a highly reflective, durable, microprismatic lens sheeting with pressure sensitive adhesive for application to aluminum, using a hand or pneumatic squeeze roller applicator. Signs are highly visible, even in visually complex nighttime roadway environments. Microprismatic lens optics have higher sign brightness than sheeting made with glass bead optical elements and are highly visible in the viewing range of 200 to 600 feet. It is ideal for signs in locations with relatively short viewing distances
3M™ Diamond Grade™ Fluorescent Reflective Sheeting
Type: state-of-the-art Miscroprismatic, fluorescent sheeting.
Best for: pedestrian crosswalk and school signs that require visibility at dawn, dusk, and during inclement weather.
Reflectivity: Meets specficiation ASTM D 4956-04, Type IX.
3981 - Series 3981 Fluorescent Yellow microprismatic reflective sheeting is highly visible in daytime, twilight, and inclement weather as well as at night. Performs at wide entrance and observation angles. Fluorescent yellow meets all color specifications for yellow traffic control signs and devices. Screen process with 3M™ series 880I process color. 3M’s Diamond Grade™ Fluorescent VIP Series is microprismatic reflective sheeting with pressure sensitive adhesive backing.
3983 - Series 3983 Fluorescent Yellow Green is color-approved in the U.S. for signs warning of the presence of non-motorized traffic: school zone, pedestrian and bicycle crossing signs. Guaranteed to retain at least 50% of its original specified brightness, even after seven years. Seven-year field performance life. Screen process with 3M™ series 880I process color.
The sheeting is highly visible in daytime, twilight and inclement weather, as well as at night. It performs well at wide entrance and observation angles.
3M™ Diamond Grade™ DG3 Reflective Sheeting
Type: full cube prismatic reflective sheeting.
Best for: all applications - delivers optimal performance at all sight distances, as well as all light and weather conditions.
Reflectivity: proposed ASTM Type XI.
3M-s new DG3 (also known as Diamond Grade Cubed or DG Cubed) Reflective Sheeting Series 4000 with pressure sensitive adhesive is a super-high efficiency, full cube retroreflective sheeting designed for production of traffic control signs and delineators that are exposed vertically in service. Providing long-term reflectivity and durability, DG3 sheeting is designed to have the highest retroreflective characteristics at medium and short road distances as determined by the RA values at 0.5 and 1.0 degree observation angles. The performance at these angles represents the most common viewing geometries encountered by the driving public.
